The Annual Medical Research Day (AMRD) is a faculty led event reserved for the showcasing and dissemination of multi-disciplinary research results from students and departmental staff at the University of Zimbabwe and other research institutes in Zimbabwe. This event was also open to external health practitioners. Four presenters within THRU ZIM delivered brilliantly crafted presentations that highlighted important aspects of their research. Tinashe Mwaturura presented findings from a randomised controlled trial that evaluated the use of a video information tool combined with e-consent. Mandikudza Tembo gave a presentation on her PhD research on the Menstrual Health intervention within the CHIEDZA trial and won the provincial paper prize. Edson Marambire presented on the IMBA HUTANO sub-study in the ERASE-TB study and highlighted its integrated services that includes screening for HIV, mental health & nutrition. Karlos Madziva presented preliminary data from the ERASETB study and was awarded the biomedical science paper prize.
